Family photos by the river

The Moore family live riverside so the banks of the river was where we chose to do their family shoot. I like to shoot in locations that mean something to the people in the photos, telling a story about them. It's also a lot easier to get everyone to relax if they are somewhere familiar. The focus for this shoot was ...

The gift of gratitude this Christmas – 2018

Over the years, when I deliver people their photos I often ask them how the images make them feel. The most common answer – GRATEFUL! Having photos taken to document the relationships that are special to you is an act of gratitude. It’s taking a moment to look at and reflect on what is most important in your life – the people ...

Ember’s family – townsville photographer

Having family visiting is the perfect opportunity to document relationships. There was lots of love shared on this beautiful afternoon and the centre of that love was little Ember.  With golden hair, big brown eyes and the sweetest nature she had everyone wrapped around her little finger... including me. She particularly loved flying high as super girl. Watching her toes curl and ...

Faith – family photos Home Hill

Capturing Faith and the Swindley family on the special occasions of Faith's Debutante Ball was the second shoot I did when I visited my home town of Home Hill recently. With 3 generations present it was really special. At our first location I captured Great Grandma's portrait as she will be 90 later this year. Watching the interaction between the generations was ...

Family photos in Home hill – Brotto family

Lara and Jeff's 2nd son Ben was a partner for the Home Hill Debutante Ball, so with all her boys looking very smart Lara thought she would take the opportunity to update her family photos. The tricky part was Ben needed to be at ball rehearsal at 4.30pm... this meant we couldn't use the afternoons beautiful golden light. I traveled down to ...

Ronon and Maddy – cousins

Living on either side of the country, Ronon and Maddy had never met in person. They met for the first time only hours before this shoot and instantly became best of friends. There was no way that beloved family member, Frank the sausage dog was going to be left at home and he aso had a ball playing with the kids. It ...

The Lyon/Hull extended family – 2018

This is the third time I've documented the Lyon/Hull extended family. The first shoot was done 5 years ago and in that time the kids have grown from toddlers to teens. When people say 'they grown so fast' they certainly aren't kidding. You can see there other shoots here and again here. The one thing that hasn't changed over the years ...

The Frisch family – family photos townsville

When you have little ones, life sure does change quickly. It was only 10 months ago I documented the Frisch family for the first time.... Riley was a happy chubby baby and in that short time she's grown into a happy curious toddler. The best part - this is only the 2nd out of a 3 shoot package I've created for fast growing ...

  • An unforgettable moment at Teegan and Sean’s wedding last year. Little Marley was getting amongst it. 😆 I love how kids are so unpredictable.
  • The excited expression on her face says it all.
  • Even the Great Danes were included in this pregnancy/newborn shoot. I've popped my favorites on the blog. Check them out using the link in bio.

  • Here he is... Logan. This is the little guy who just couldn't wait to make his entrance into the world. He was in such a hurry Jemmah's pregnancy shoot almost didn't happen. (read the previous post) I'm grateful he gave us a few hours grace to allow us to capture the pregnancy stage. Isn't he the sweetest!

  • THE PREGNANCY SHOOT THAT ALMOST DIDN'T HAPPEN - Scheduled for the first time during 'the big wet', this shoot had to be rescheduled 3 times before we finally had a day with enough light to shoot. We were ready to shoot at 8.30am.... that was until Jemmah's water broke at 6.30am. Amazingly she still wanted to go ahead. "Don't worry, we've got this" her message to me read. I shuffled a few of my other bookings around, pushing her shoot time back and after she was checked over at the birth center she was given the all clear to go home and do the shoot. I am so pleased I got to document this special time. As the day went on I couldn't help but wonder how everything was going. I got a text message the following day... a boy! Stay tuned for the newborn photos, he is a cutie!!

  • If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard “I will have my family photos taken after I loose weight”
