Ember’s little family

'I'm not young enough to know everything' is a quote from Oscar Wilde. This is something that I'm constantly reminded of. Here is a little story that confirms it... Little Asta was telling her Mum's friends that her Mum had a baby in her belly, it was a girl and her name was Sadie. Jessica didn't think much of it and ...

family of 4

Natural, documentary style photos - this was how Jaimee wanted to capture the final weeks of being pregnant with her third child. My place was the perfect location offering light filled rooms that are simply decorated in neutral tones. I asked Jaimee to bring along a piece of artwork and a few small photos of the girls to give the background of ...

Liam and Erin are having a baby!

Liam and Erin are expecting their 1st baby. We decided upon the town common for their shoot location. It's hard to believe this location is only 10 minutes from our city centre. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Liam and Erin chose our pregnancy/newborn shoot package so stay tuned for their newborn photos. I can't wait to meet ...

new life

It's funny how the universe works... I recently lost someone whom I loved dearly. The funny thing is that since this happened I have done more pregnancy shoots than I usually do in 6 months. Being around new life has been such a gift and has helped me with the grieving process immensely. One of these shoots was of Tesha and ...

Pregnancy and Newborn photography

I always feel lucky when I have the opportunity to capture both pregnancy and newborn photographs for a client... and it leaves me feeling much more connected to 'their' story. Myself and all the girls at the studio always squeal when we receive a phone call from a client telling us all about their new baby! When I first met Pamela ...

  • Whoever said that engineers were boring obviously didn't meet the team at SMEC. I had a blast capturing their headshots this week.
  • An unforgettable moment at Teegan and Sean’s wedding last year. Little Marley was getting amongst it. 😆 I love how kids are so unpredictable.
  • The excited expression on her face says it all.
  • Even the Great Danes were included in this pregnancy/newborn shoot. I've popped my favorites on the blog. Check them out using the link in bio.

  • Here he is... Logan. This is the little guy who just couldn't wait to make his entrance into the world. He was in such a hurry Jemmah's pregnancy shoot almost didn't happen. (read the previous post) I'm grateful he gave us a few hours grace to allow us to capture the pregnancy stage. Isn't he the sweetest!

  • THE PREGNANCY SHOOT THAT ALMOST DIDN'T HAPPEN - Scheduled for the first time during 'the big wet', this shoot had to be rescheduled 3 times before we finally had a day with enough light to shoot. We were ready to shoot at 8.30am.... that was until Jemmah's water broke at 6.30am. Amazingly she still wanted to go ahead. "Don't worry, we've got this" her message to me read. I shuffled a few of my other bookings around, pushing her shoot time back and after she was checked over at the birth center she was given the all clear to go home and do the shoot. I am so pleased I got to document this special time. As the day went on I couldn't help but wonder how everything was going. I got a text message the following day... a boy! Stay tuned for the newborn photos, he is a cutie!!

  • I am super proud of these portraits that I shot in collaboration with Verve Design for Queensland Country Credit Union last year. 6 different individuals shot in 6 different locations around Townsville. Check them all out on the blog. Link in bio :) Megan
