Holiday to Vietnam

Louise one of our wedding photographers recently went to Vietnam on a holiday, how exciting! The colours from her trip are so inspiring. Hear about her adventures here…
“At the end of 2011 I spent a month in Vietnam. The purpose of the trip was really twofold. The first reason for choosing Vietnam was the promise of great photographic opportunities. Everything had so much character and charm; it was hard to put the camera down!
The second reason for going was to reset. To get completely out of my comfort zone and go somewhere where I knew nothing. It is easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose site of our blessings.
On both counts Vietnam exceeded my expectations. Despite the crazy traffic, the constant horns, the zealous vendors and total disregard for the dangers of electrical currents, it is an amazing place.
The Vietnamese are adaptable, gracious people. Here are a few of the quieter moments of the trip.”

  • The perfect spot to enjoy this long weekend.
  • The lovely Locke family farewelled Townsville recently but before they left their home Karen and Kel wanted to do a shoot that celebrated their time in Townsville. This is one of my favorite shots of the family in the kid's cubby. It's always sad to say goodbye but I have no doubt great adventures lie ahead for these guys. ⠀
I'm hoping our paths cross again one day. Wishing you all the best Locke's! ⠀

  • I hope you’re spending your long weekend with your special people. After a long night editing I’m off to Alva beach tomorrow to stay at my sister’s new beach hut. Well earned breaks are the best!
  • I usually seek out light-filled airy locations but this time wanted to try something a little different, moving away from my usual style. ⠀
It was really important for me to shoot this in Kya and Ben's home. Kya has incredible style so I knew the space would be beautiful, but more than that I wanted the shots to have a slight documentary feel. I wanted to capture not just the love they share but also a little insight into their lives. I love how unique the images are. There certainly is no place like home. ⠀
What do you think? Megan
  • Don't work with kids and animals they said... I think it's where the magic is!!!
  • The texture, emotion, and soft light at the shoot makes me swoon.
