Family photos in Home hill – Brotto family
Lara and Jeff’s 2nd son Ben was a partner for the Home Hill Debutante Ball. With all her boys looking very smart, Lara thought she would take the opportunity to update her family photos.
Ben needed to be at ball rehearsal at 4.30pm… this meant we couldn’t use the afternoons beautiful golden light. I traveled down to Home Hill the week before the shoot and scouted for locations. I grew up in the Burdekin and with my Mum and sister also on the case we had a few ideas. We needed shade, which is hard at 2 pm. After driving around for an hour or so, traveling down roads that hold many childhood memories, we were sorted. On the day of the shoot, we were incredibly lucky when the sun ducked behind a cloud, just for a few minutes. This allowed us to venture out of the shade and shoot on the epic Burdekin Bridge.
Lara was concerned about how the boys would feel at the shoot Teenage boys are not renowned for loving to have their photos taken but they were fantastic. I’m pretty sure they know how important photos are to their Mum so they did it for her. How lovely!
