Contemporary Glamour
After seeing a some really beautiful glamour style shoots online I was inspired to asked the lovely Monique from Tiki on Ackers if she would allow me to photograph the amazing women in her family. I had met Monique’s Grandmother (who occasionally helps out at the salon with ‘tea and tidy’) and had also heard so much about her Mum. Monique also has 2 sisters – Alicia (who owns the wonderful Milou Dress House) and Carley who was visiting from out of town. We also wanted to include Monique’s own daughter Olive and niece Bella. With such a stunning, vivacious group of woman here, our studio came to life! And there was certainly no shortage of girlie giggles.
My whole reason for wanting to shoot this family is to show beauty of all ages. Our society focuses so much on the 20 something age group I wanted to highlight that women of all ages are beautiful. Probably 80% of the women we photograph tell us before their shoot how much they detest having their photo taken. After the shoot 100% of them say how much fun they had. Monique and her family said they had a fabulous time – we love hearing feedback like this:
“Hi Ladies, I just wanted to say that you have blown us all away with the beautiful shoot Megan did with the 4 generations of women in my family. They are absolutely amazing! Thankyou, yet again xxx”
