Townsville outdoor photographs – Sisters at the beach

Meet Ruby and her little sister Evie. We have been photographing Carol’s little girls for many years now and it is such a joy to get to see their faces change and personalties grow. Several of the shoots have been for the Kids Community Calendar, other years we have captured the whole family.
This was one of those stunning winter afternoons at Pallarenda where the air is cool, the sky is clear and the light is spectacular. Photographing in Townsville at the moment is such a treat, I don’t winter to end! Carol turned up with the girls dressed in the most perfect outfits for the beach – flowing, hippy dresses from La Petite Boudoir. I love their outfits so much – if anyone knows where I can buy an adult dress like this, let me know!
These photographs remind me of what I remember my childhood feeling like. Free spirited, fun with wild hair whipping around their faces, playing fish in the water, running, jumping, drawing in the sand. Carol (mum) allows the girls to be who they are and celebrates this. Because of this the girls really know how to have fun, how to explore and enjoy the simple pleasures.
