Woodford Folk Festival

Over the Christmas break I was lucky enough to attend the Woodford Folk Festival with a big group of family and friends. For those who haven’t heard of the festival, it runs annually from Boxing Day through to New Years Day and features over 2000 performers. There is something for everyone at Woodford: concerts, dances, street theatre, debates and films, comedy sessions, circus acts and heaps more. The festival streets are lined with restaurants, buskers, many various stalls, bars and street performers.
The thing I enjoy most about the festival is the overall atmosphere and what an amazing location it is for spending time with friends and family. Having attended the festival with my family from a young age it has been the backdrop for many family stories and memories. I still remember the culture shock I experienced the first time I travelled to the festival with my family from Emerald – needless to say it opened my eyes a lot!  The festival still remains a place where you can escape from ‘reality’ and immerse yourself in cultures from near and far. I hope you will enjoy some photos from this years festival.
Liz 🙂
