Deacon Family 2016
Honey first photographed the Deacon family in 2006. Every year, without fail, Carolyn would call in November/December and book in to update their family photos. When Honey moved away the honor was passed onto me. For the last 10 years, we have watched them grow and change. In the beginning, they didn’t have any pets and now it’s a wonderful zoo! After this year’s shoot I checked out last years, hanging on their wall. I actually couldn’t believe it was only a year ago! All the kids had grown and changed so much.
What I love the most about the Deacon family is they are genuine. Carolyn likes us to capture the reality of life. Which is how I love to shoot. These photos that hang on this families wall are more than just photos, they are their stories. More than that, through this tradition Carolyn has taught her children that family is everything. It’s worth taking a little time each year to document and celebrate that.
You can check out a some of the older shoots here and here. Watch them grow! It’s beautiful.
