Townsville Eye Bridal Shoot 2012

A few weeks ago Honey and I had the pleasure of shooting the 2012 Townsville Eye Bridal Edition. What a fantastic shoot! The inspiration for the shoot was ‘ballerina bride’ and the theme was truly brought to life by Karen our amazing stylist. When I walked in to the venue in the morning – I was taken aback at the transformation of the empty room in to a scene out of a story book. There was certainly a lot to work with and we couldn’t wait to start shooting.
While Honey and I were busy planning a shot list and lighting arrangements, our bride Lucy and four gorgeous little ballerinas Violet, India, Olive and Karlee were getting their hair and makeup done. The young girls were spell bound by the whole thing and we would often look over to see them all looking in the mirror amazed at themselves or starring admiringly up at Lucy. It was very cute!!
Once the shoot got under way it was all systems go and we had so much fun shooting Lucy and the girls in lots of different arrangements. All of the gowns and accessories were beautiful. Lucy made our job very easy – she was a such a lovely person and an amazing model! The whole shoot was a bunch of fun and we were all really happy with the result.
Techie Info:  We used a three light studio set up for most of the arrangements as well as using large reflectors. Because we were changing shooting arrangements with every new ‘look’, the studio lighting setup also had to be changed each time. This was the most challenging aspect of the shoot as moving the lights and re working them to get the light perfect can be time consuming. Once right however, the set up was perfect for creating a magical feeling in the photos as well as covering a wide and full scene.
