Welcome Sadie – newborn photographer Townsville

You may remember Jess, Jesse and Asta from their recent pregnancy family shoot that I shared. This stage of life really is incredible with everything changing so quickly. Sometimes it can feel like a blur so it’s important to capture these special moments.

We wanted to do something a little different for this shoot. Jess is a strings music teacher and her love of music is woven into her family. Even little Asta plays a tiny violin. Because of this I thought we would try for a shot of Sadie on a beautiful chello. The shoot was shot in our Townsville photography studio. Of course Sadies safety comes first so at no time was she on the instrument without her Mum’s protective hand on her. Jess firstly placed Sadie on the cello holding onto her bottom (I took a shot) then Jess moved her hand placement onto Sadies head and shoulders (I took another shot). The end result (drumroll) is both of these images stitched together giving the illusion that Sadie was perched on the cello alone. Ta Darrrr! During the shoot I made sure I also captured this family of fours first family photos. Little Asta is beyond excited about being a big sister “It’s ok Sadie girl” she said as she soothed and fussed over her. Darling!

Megan 🙂

These are the two images I used to create the one hero shot.

  • An unforgettable moment at Teegan and Sean’s wedding last year. Little Marley was getting amongst it. 😆 I love how kids are so unpredictable.
  • The excited expression on her face says it all.
  • Even the Great Danes were included in this pregnancy/newborn shoot. I've popped my favorites on the blog. Check them out using the link in bio.

  • Here he is... Logan. This is the little guy who just couldn't wait to make his entrance into the world. He was in such a hurry Jemmah's pregnancy shoot almost didn't happen. (read the previous post) I'm grateful he gave us a few hours grace to allow us to capture the pregnancy stage. Isn't he the sweetest!

  • THE PREGNANCY SHOOT THAT ALMOST DIDN'T HAPPEN - Scheduled for the first time during 'the big wet', this shoot had to be rescheduled 3 times before we finally had a day with enough light to shoot. We were ready to shoot at 8.30am.... that was until Jemmah's water broke at 6.30am. Amazingly she still wanted to go ahead. "Don't worry, we've got this" her message to me read. I shuffled a few of my other bookings around, pushing her shoot time back and after she was checked over at the birth center she was given the all clear to go home and do the shoot. I am so pleased I got to document this special time. As the day went on I couldn't help but wonder how everything was going. I got a text message the following day... a boy! Stay tuned for the newborn photos, he is a cutie!!
